ERUTAN

Shawls of leaves braided

athwart a steep arch, chiseled from

landscapes out of stone

Shielding fractured tears

pouring rivers, lakes, oceans

desperate measures

Appealed by children

disregarding their mother’s

fatigue and they splurge;

Adorning their grand

indulgence through abstract trails

which lead past forests

Of manmade reserves

but their birthmark’s subsidies

ushers their attention

To the disfigured embrace of Erutan.
