“The Sound of Your Voice” Melissa Ramos

Transcript:

Hey, It's me again. I'm just calling for our weekly checkups.
I took that test today that I was telling you about the other day.
Hopefully, I passed, you know I'm not much of a math person.
Oh! Which reminded me about that one time when we were in
geometry class, you said something under your breath, and we
burst out laughing! The teacher almost kicked us out of the class
and everyone was looking at us because our voices
were no match for the sound of those boring pencils moving, trying to finish in time.
Do you remember that one time in gym class when you tackled me over beating you in tag?
You were always such a sore loser!
Oh- here I go reminiscing again, sorry.
I um- I got your favorite food today in your honor.
I realize that my rambling isn't the same as talking to you in person, but your phone number still works.
The more voicemails I leave, the more your phone is filled with my voice.
I just like knowing something that used to be yours can still be reached.
Anyways, I miss you and I wish you were still here to tell me to stop calling late at night when I would wake you up to tell you about random thoughts in my mind.
You secretly enjoyed it though, I could always tell by the sound of your voice.
I'm gonna go to sleep now before the sun wakes me up.
I'll call you again next week if your phone is still on.
