Kitty Cat Chronicles: Then vs Now

ORIGINAL:

Long ago... In an adorable place far, far away about a billion light years away, there was a kitten just being adopted named Sterling. He was a normal kitten, but the new owners didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.

Sterling zipped through the clouds racing to catch up with the Shadow Cats. Sterling hollered to his partner Biscuit “We might actually catch them this time!” Biscuit called back “The’re just where we want them!” “This is going to be purrfect!” they said at the same time. The Kitty Squad has been trying to catch the Shadow Cats for about 3 human years! Do you know how long that is in cat years?! The Shadow Cats were fast, but Sterling and Biscuit were faster. When they were just about to catch the Shadow Cats, he heard Clementine and Mary (the other cats in the Kitty Squad) on their earpiece. They were saying that the Shadow Cats were just using a distraction to let Cupid get the parts for their ultimate heist. They were trying to steal the world’s most expensive painting!

When Sterling and Biscuit heard this, they turned back immediately and rushed back to their base. They then questioned how Clementine and Mary knew this. The two said that they hacked into the security cameras at the Shadow Cat base and saw that the Shadow Cats were all discussing their roles in the top-secret mission. The Kitty Squad knew they needed backup, so they decided to call Hershey. Hershey is their go to backup kitty on any important mission. When Hershey came, she was quite frustrated because she got called over just as her owner Sam was giving her a deep tissue meowsauge. The other cats were mad about this too, because they constantly have the same experiences with their owners and spy missions. Specifically, Sterling because he always takes time out of his day with his owner to do the work the other cats are supposed to do!

The Kitty Squad knew that all this fussing would do them no good, so Biscuit started to assign jobs. She told Sterling that she would help him sneak in the base and take back the equipment that the Shadow Cats stole, Clementine would then distract the Shadow Cats, and Mary would watch just in case the Shadow Cats noticed them. The Kitty Squad knew they had no time to waste so they put on their gear and left. As they piled into their kitty van Sterling felt unsafe and had a feeling that the Shadow Cats were watching. He told Mary about his feeling of unease with the shadow cats and she said, “No don’t see any Shadow Cats near!” Sterling felt weird about this answer and felt his whisker intuition twitch. He knew something fishy was up, and he knew that he was going to find out soon...

Shortly after they were at the Shadow Cat base and were already getting in their positions Sterling’s white fluffy hair stuck out of his black stretchy, spandex suit. In the wind, it blew around in every direction as they all made their way to the front door. The Shadow Cats had a fake doormat that cause anyone that steps on it to fall into a giant pit. The Kitty Squad knew this and used their silent kitty jetpacks to fly over it. About 3 minutes later Clementine was distracting the Shadow Cats while Mary was watching the security, and Sterling and Biscuit were sneaking in and getting the gear.

But it was too late to escape because the Shadow Cats were already on the move! The evil band of cats were heading towards the Historical Museum Of Long Boring Lectures About Paintings! The Kitty Squad needed to get there quickly before it was too late! They scrambled into the Kitty Van. As they did The Shadow Cats were already on the highway! The Kitty Squad pounced on the TURBO button that’s on the control panel of their Kitty Van. The wheels of the Kitty Van scraped against on the highway, making red fiery sparks fly all around! “We can get them if we loop the van around” said Hershey. “Does anyone know how to do a loop with the van?!” she exclaimed.

“I do!” said Clementine. “Clementine take the wheel!” said Sterling. Clementine walked up to the wheel like a tortoise. Slow, and steady... ‘Hurry up Clementine!” they all exclaimed. So, he grabbed hold of the wheel and flawlessly looped the car right in front of the Shadow Cats.

WOOSH, CRACK, BOOM! Is the only thing the Shadow Cats heard as they smashed into the Kitty Van. Luckily, nobody was harmed in the process, the Kitty Squad crawled out of the car and inched towards the Shadow Cats. As they did, they noticed the sorrow in the eyes of the evil cats. As Sterling came towards them, he saw that they all had scratches and scars, he asked them what had happened and for once the Shadow Cats weren’t attacking, they were crying.

They all started to speak about their past and no story had a difference, they were homeless. Never had a family and were abandoned when they were young. They were all attacked in the streets by other cats, and worst of all whenever they tried for a family they were rejected. Biscuit finally said, “Well I've always wanted siblings, maybe I could take you home to my owner Malia tonight.” “That would be purrfect!” said the Shadow Cats.

Sterling flew home that night thinking of all the good he had done. The Shadow Cats got a home, and Biscuit got siblings. Soon he was home and was in the bed of his owner. He then felt the soothing hands of his owner pick him up and take him to her warm, and soft blanket. He wished that everyone could know how to find light in even the darkest places. He fell asleep feeling the love of his owner. And he knew that tomorrow would be a new day and that the bravery and courage of him and his team would be known by all and that it would impact every person and pet in the whole entire world.

NEW:

Long ago... in an adorable place far, far, away. About a billion light years away to be exact. There was a kitten just being adopted named Sterling. He was a “normal kitten”, the new owners thought. They had no idea what they were getting themselves into...

--- A few years later —

Sterling zipped through the clouds racing to catch up with the Shadow Cats. “We might actually catch them this time!” Sterling hollered to his partner Biscuit. “They're just where we want them!” Biscuit called back.

“This is going to be purrfect!” they said in unison. The Kitty Squad has been trying to catch the Shadow Cats for about 3 human years! Do you know how long that is in cat years?! The Shadow Cats were fast, but Sterling and Biscuit were faster. When they were just about to catch the Shadow Cats, he heard Clementine and Mary, the other cats in the Kitty Squad, on their earpieces. They were saying that the Shadow Cats were just using a distraction to let Cupid, the shadow cat’s leader, get the parts for their ultimate heist. They were trying to steal The Starry Night!

When Sterling and Biscuit heard this, they immediately turned back and rushed to their base.

“Sorry that it was a bust,” said Clementine.

“Don’t worry! It just gives us more time to prepare for their plans” answered Biscuit. Sterling stood in the corner, scowling.

“How did you know their plan? How do I know you’re not working with them and wasting our time?” asked Sterling, walking into the light.

“Woah Sterling, chill out, we were able to hack into their system. Halfway through your mission we broke through their firewall and hacked into the cameras at their base. We saw that the Shadow Cats were all discussing their roles in the top-secret mission.” Sterling eased up a bit.

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have assumed.” The Kitty Squad knew they needed backup, so they decided to call Hershey. Hershey is their go to backup kitty on any important mission. When Hershey came, she was quite frustrated because she got called over just as her owner, Stan, was giving her a deep tissue meowsauge (massage).

“Hershey, we’re sorry about the massage, but this is a big mission. The Shadow Cats are stealing The Starry Night!”

Biscuit started to assign jobs. She told Sterling that the two of them would sneak into the base and take back the equipment that the Shadow Cats stole, Clementine and Hershey would then distract the Shadow Cats, and Mary would watch from nearby in case the Shadow Cats noticed them. The Kitty Squad knew they had no time to waste so they put on their gear and left. As they piled into the Kitty Van, Sterling felt unsafe and had a feeling that the Shadow Cats were watching. He told Mary about his feeling of unease.

“I don’t see any Shadow Cats near!” she said. Sterling felt weird about this answer and felt his whisker intuition twitch. He knew something fishy was up, and he was going to find out soon.

Shortly after, they were at the Shadow Cat base and were getting to their positions. Sterling’s fluffy white hair stuck out of his black spandex suit. In the wind, it blew in every direction as they all made their way to the front door. The Kitty Squad threw a cat ball at the door. This triggered a false doormat which opened to a pit below. The Kitty Squad used their silent kitty jetpacks to fly over it. Nearby, Clementine and Hershey were distracting the Shadow Cats while Mary watched the security. In the meantime, Sterling and Biscuit were sneaking in and getting the gear.

But it was too late to escape because the Shadow Cats were already on the move. The evil band of cats were heading towards the Museum of Modern Art! The Kitty Squad needed to get there before it was too late. They scrambled into the Kitty Van. As they did, they realized The Shadow Cats were already in the Lincoln Tunnel, heading to New Jersey! The Kitty Squad pounced on the Kitty Van TURBO button. The wheels of the Kitty Van scraped against the side of the tunnel, making red fiery sparks fly all around. “We can get them if we loop the van around,” said Hershey. “Does anyone know how to do a loop with the van?!” she exclaimed.

“I do!” yelled Clementine.

“Clementine, take the wheel.” said Sterling. Clementine pounced on the wheel and flawlessly looped the car right in front of the Shadow Cats.

WOOSH, CRACK, BOOM! Is the only thing the Shadow Cats heard as they smashed into the Kitty Van. Luckily nobody was harmed in the process, the Kitty Squad crawled out of the car and inched towards the Shadow Cats. As they did, they noticed the sorrow in the eyes of the evil cats. They were all attacked in the streets by other cats, and worst of all whenever they tried for a family they were rejected. Biscuit finally said, “Well I've always wanted siblings, maybe I could take you home to my mom, Max, tonight.”

“We would love that,” said the Shadow Cats.

Sterling flew home that night thinking of all the good he had done. The Shadow Cats got a forever home, and Biscuit got siblings. Soon he was home and was in his mom's bed. He felt her soothing hands pick him up and take him to her warm, soft blanket. He wished that everyone could know how to find light in even the darkest places. He fell asleep feeling the love of his mom. And he knew that tomorrow would be a new day and that the bravery and courage of him and his team would be known by all and would impact every person and pet in the world.
