Frequently Asked Questions
What type of organization is Synthesis Publications?
Synthesis Publications is a registered LLC in the state of New Jersey.
As a writer or artist, can I publish works onto Synthesis Publications and elsewhere?
Yes! You can submit any Synthesis works to other publications, as well. We want you to succeed!
Can I be a staff member if I am not in high school?
While Synthesis consists mainly of high schoolers, we allow anyone between the ages of 13-19 to apply. Middle schoolers and college students are welcome as long as they are teenagers.
As a creator, do I keep the rights to my own work?
Yes! You keep all the rights to your own work. You are the rightful creator in every checkpoint at Synthesis. However, we cannot promise that other institutions or organizations will have the same regulations. Our only request is that all work that has been published for over 3 months remain on the website and social media. The exception being if there is a special circumstance that has been communicated.
Do staff members get paid?
Staff members do not receive consistent pay, nor do they get paid for the works published (there will and can be exceptions to this circumstance). On the flip side, Synthesis does work on various collaborations with other organizations, affiliations, and more opportunities to come. Thus, there may be occasional opportunities to earn money along the way! Other details can be discussed once an applicant has been admitted to the team.
