When the seasons change

extra leaves fall for my footsteps,

extra rain will pour.

no more snow in summer she said,

no, nothing more.

extra dust blows for my nostrils,

extra air will blow.

no more snow in summer she said,

no, nothing left to go.

extra snow flakes for my split ends,

extra spite will spill.

no more nice in summer she yelled,

no more nice until.

extra shock for my nerves,

extra emptiness inside.

no more melted ice in summer she whispered,

nothing left to hide.

no more to keep within for my sorrow,

nothing left to say.

extra snow for summer she cries,

extra snow all day.

now theres nothing left for me,

no leaves,

no dust,

no snow.

but a lot of things for summer she sobbed,

a lot of nothing,

a lot of no more,

a lot of low-blow.

now summer smiles as she sees the leaves begin to die,

because now it’s time for autumn to fly.
